Emprendia is a company driven by sustainable prosperity and by cultural, social and ecosystem regeneration. In the meantime it seeks for solutions responsive to resource scarcity, ecological planetary boundaries and large scale social inequities.
In a transition toward green and socially inclusive economies, Emprendia creates communities and public value with its clients, suppliers, competitors and strategic partners. Pedro Tarak
Co-Founder and Strategy Director – Visions & Strategies
With an environmental policy and law background, Pedro was Executive Director of Fundación Ambiente y Recursos Naturales in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He has been instrumental to the development and institutionalization of several mecanisms of public participation both in Argentina as well as in different Latin American countries (eg. public hearings and free access to information regimes). He also worked extensively in legislation for nature conservation, hazardous waste, environmental impact assessment, water and air pollution, environmental licensing and public institutional frameworks for environmental protection in different Latin American countries. He has been consultant, among different organizations, to the World Bank, UNDP and the OAS. He participated actively in the preparatory processes of the UN Conference on Environment and Development in 1992 facilitating engagement by Latin American civil society organizations and media and bridge building with business and government. He has also been professor in graduate and post graduate studies at the unversities of Buenos Aires, San Francisco and Belgrano. In 1997, he joined Stephan Schmidheiny, Swiss industrialist and founder of the AVINA Foundation, launching the first AVINA Representation in Latin America (Buenos Aires) and helping similar efforts in Perú, Chile, Colombia and Uruguay. Since then, he has fulfilled different pioneering roles in AVINA both at local levels (in Argentina and Patagonia) as well as internationally with large scale Latin American initiatives. He was also in charge of Coordinating AVINA´s work in Europe. Currently he continues with responsibilities in Europe and supervises AVINA´s continental strategies on transparency and climate change.
Guillermo Schulmeier
Co-Founder – Communication & Positioning
Graduated in Communication Sciences from the University of Buenos Aires (UBA), Guillermo started a professional career at HSM when he created the site for intermanagers.com. He was also Project Leader for HSM Education, and designed contents (e-learning) for Philip Kotler, Tom Peters, William Ury, Stephen Covey and Peter Senge online courses. He then joined the Marketing area at HSM Europe. As a journalist he contributed at La Nación, Gestión, Valor Sostenible among other media. In 2005 he began directing several media campaigns for different companies, until 2007 when he shaped his vision and experience in Emprendia. In the third sector, he is communications coordinator and partner of the NGO El Ceibal Asociación Civil. He is also partner of Fundación Avina and co-founder of Nuevos Aires, an open space intended for companies and entrepreneurs who are willing to contribute to the sustainable economic, social and environmental development by promoting socially responsible values and practices. He is the author of the blog Sin Serif.

María Isabel Guelfo
Account Executive
Communication Degree in Journalism from the Universidad Católica Argentina (UCA). She began her career as a media analyst for research teams from the Faculty of Social Sciences of the University and Poder Ciudadano Foundation. She wrote for the online edition of Crítica de la Argentina and before joining Emprendia was Account Executive at Three | Consultants. She also writes for the magazine Elixir of Bacco Club.
Agustina Cabrera
Account Executive
Advanced student of Social Communication Sciences at the University of Buenos Aires. She began her career as a producer and writer in Radio Express and Missions Sports news site. She worked as Head of Press and Communications in the NGO Foundation for Democratic Change – Partners for Democratic Change International – with the mission of transmitting the values of sustainable development and democratic governance in multi-way process. Also performed consulting in communication and conflict transformation processes for the reestablishment of diplomatic relations between Ecuador and Colombia supported by the Regional Bureau for Latin America and the Caribbean of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP-LAC-UN) with Graciela Tapia and Ana Cabria Mellace. She was also Assistant Secretary Administrative in the Argentinean National Congress.

Alan Gegenschatz
Was born in Argentina in 1969, is married with Barbara and we has two boys, Santiago and Joaquin. He studied Business Administration at the Catholic University and after his graduation he did Post graduation studies in Logistic and a two year Master in Marketing and Strategic Management. Alan worked in Familiar, State and Multinational companies. His last (11 years) job was CGM at TNT in Argentina. leading and demonstrating through different projects the importance of CSR and the new role of Businessman above and beyond making profits, towards sustainability. In 2010 he decided to quit the corporate job for a sabbatic year. He used that year for doing a Senior Management Program (AR/Spain) and to travel to China, Russia and India. Currently he is an independent consultant and advisor in Strategy and has recently joined Emprendia as Associate to develop sustainable business strategy of Organization and territories and internationalization process through global articulations in SAM. He is leading two NGOs: FUNDES supports the competitive development of Micro, Small and Medium Companies and has offices in ten countries in Latinoamerica and he cofounded NUEVOSAIRES , which gathers Businessman to support positive management practices promoting the New Economies; Low carbon, Reuse&Recycling, Ecosystems&Biodiversity and Incusion&Integration. Alan has enroled himself at LEAD-Leadership for Sustainable Developmemnt Programs and has been awarded with Iluminis and Space to take Place award.
Pablo Benavides
Branding & Comunicación – Argentina
Pablo studied Advertising in the University of Business and Social Sciences (UCES), and began his career in Mind Opener, in the advertising and marketing area of the Exhibition & Conference Division. He then worked as an account executive in Ayer advertising agency -Norte Supermarkets and Santa Rosa Ranch-, also as account director in Agulla & Baccetti agency -Levi’s, Repsol, YPF, Topper and Parmalat-, and then in CraveroLanis/Euro RSCG -Galicia Bank, Michelin and Buenos Aires City Gobernment-. In 2002 he joined Nike Argentina as brand manager for a period of three years, where he was the resposible of comprehensive advertising campaigns (on and off-line) and training and working trips in Nike Inc. in USA. In 2006 he traveled to Barcelona where he lived and worked for a year. In 2007 he returned to Argentina to work as brand manager in Infinite, one of the most important eyewear brand. He is currently working as an associate consultant in the branding area in Emprendia and also as an independent consultant.
Ignacio Martinez Escalas
Strategy & Business Development
Graduated in Business Administration from the Catholic University of Argentina (UCA), Ignacio holds a MBA from Vlerick Leuven Gent Management School, one of the top European business schools. Ignacio’s professional experience is based mainly on Strategy and Business Consulting, having work during the last five years in the design and implementation of several projects within Corporate Strategy, Business Development, Business Restructurings, Processes and Profit Optimization, Post M&A Integration, etc.
As part of top consulting firms like Accenture, well recognized Latin American firms like Proguide Management Consulting or as independent advisor, Ignacio had the chance to work all across Latin America, Europe and China with leading multinationals and global companies operating within these geographies as well as the opportunity to work with people of 42 nationalities and leading multicultural teams from all over the world.
